Bamboo is especially susceptible to a destructive small beetle which is often wrongly mistaken for termite. It leaves a distinctive dust from eating away at the bamboo, usually from the inside slowly to the outer denser side. This beetle is naturally common in all but the smallest bambooInitially in our production we were assured we had something that was 100% effective as a deterrent and control method. We however still had a small percentage of furniture returns which beetle had attacked after treating. We struggled with this by trying many toxic and non toxic solutions, each we were assured was the answer. We asked American scientist consultants for a complete solution for this. Phetchaboon Bamboo perfected the treatment of the furniture in a non toxic process, with a method approved by the American FDA (Food and Drug Administration). This process leaves a residual non toxic compound within the bamboo which will repel and kill beetles for years and years to come. It is non toxic and has NO side effects to humans or pets. We believe we are one of only two bamboo furniture companies within Thailand to use this proven method, and the other company only exports their furniture.
